When we bought the house in 1996 it had all the characteristics of the classic Tuscan farmhouse with the animals still intact. Maybe it was the features of a 12th century convent (few and far between these days) that attracted us; or maybe it was the old cellars with vaults built on the rocks and the soothing view of olive grove hills.
