I Gergoni is located in the territory of Monteleone d'Orvieto,
in the very heart of central Italy, one of the most beautiful countryside
in the world, rich in culture, history and art, were the landscape is
soft and peaceful, were the nature is healthy and respected, were flourished
a Middle Age that built wonderful cities and small villages still intact
in our times.
Very rich, both from a quantity and quality standpoint, are the opportunities
offered to the tourists and virtually infinite the alternatives: it
could be very pleasant to wander in the surroundings and visit the many
charming small villages, starting from Monteleone d'Orvieto, founded
around the 10th century, that keeps untouched the Middle
Age plan and the structure of fortified village; or visit important
places like Orvieto, Chiusi, Città della Pieve, Perugia, with
their Etruscan origin and Middle Age heritage; or follow an enogastronomic
path and visit the many wineries in Montepulciano and Montalcino
in Tuscany or the ones in Montefalco in Umbria in search of that
wonderful and surprisingly unknown wine which is the Sagrantino,
or, last but not least, relax in San Casciano dei Bagni in the
beautiful SPA with hot thermal water.
Another great heritage of the area is the local food, so tied
to the old traditions, based on excellent ingredients, oil and wine
mainly, a food that preserve the methods of the “good old days”, home
made, healthy, tasty.
