Via Santa Giusta, 65, 66034 Lanciano (Chieti)
The estate is set in the quiet area of Lanciano, at an altitude of about 265 metres and 5 minutes from the old town centre, famous for the Eucharistic Miracle. The sea is just fifteen minutes away, the mountains half an hour.
The farm is family-run and is open all year round.
The recently renovated building includes the owners’ own residence as well as guest rooms and apartments.
Breakfast offers traditional Abruzzese cakes served in the guests’ own room in winter and in the garden in summer, amidst trees producing fresh seasonal fruit for picking.
Lanciano is famous for its 14th century cathedral, the Basilica of Santa Maria del Ponte and for the church of Santa Maria Maggiore, the Torri montanare towers and the Aragonesi walls, the medieval fountain del Borgo. Must-visits in the surrounding area include Abbey of San Giovanni in Venere in Fossacesia, Roccascalegna Castle, Loggia Amblingh in Vasto, Calascio fortress in the heart of Gran Sasso National Park, Monti della Laga and the Grotte di Stiffe river caves.
Nature lovers can visit the Abruzzo National Park, with its wolf, chamois and Marsican brown bear, the Majella Regional Park and 38 regional and state nature reserves. In winter, there is skiing at Lanciano Majelletta Pass, Ovindoli, Campo felice, Campo Imperatore and Roccaraso Rivisondoli.
Plenty of beaches to visit too, like the one at Rocca San Giovanni, perfect for snorkelling, at Vasto Marina in the Punta Aderci National Nature reserve, at Francavilla al Mare and a wilder beach at Punta Penna. On the Costa dei Trabocchi are the beautiful pebble coves of the San Giovanni coastline and Punta del Cavalluccio beach in Ortona.
