The agriturismo
Run by a young couple, the agriturismo is located in the Maiella National Park, in the medieval hamlet of Pacentro, just a few minutes from Sulmona. As well as producing oil and a range of organic vegetables, the agriturismo also offers an educational farm and a pony club for your little ones.
The cuisine is simple and seasonal, and meals are served in the agriturismo’s “taverna”, the ideal place for everyone to gather and enjoy delicious food together.
The accommodation
The ground floor of the small farmhouse, hidden among the trees, comprises a typical rustic “tavern” with open fireplace and wood burning stove. On the first floor you’ll find a double bedroom with separate private bathroom and, via a wooden staircase, a further two double bedrooms with wooden floors and a separate shared bathroom.
The agriturismo also boasts an elegant stone house in the historic centre of Pacentro. This house features an independent entrance, 3 spacious and comfortable bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a lounge-kitchen and a private bathroom.
Activities and surrounding
The agriturismo is nestled in the Pacentro countryside, and offers sprawling terraced gardens, filled with olive and oak trees, the ideal place for guests to relax while their children play freely or get to know the farm animals. The agriturismo also offers a pony club and a certified organic vegetable garden.
Pacentro is a stunning medieval hamlet on the slopes of the Morrone range, where art, tradition and the mountains come together, in the Maiella National Park, at the intersection between various trails to explore on foot. 12 km takes you to the Passo San Leonardo (1300 m altitude), the perfect starting point for excursions by snowshoe or by bicycle, popular with skiers and snowboarders for its wild nature and thrilling descents.
The agriturismo also offers easy access to Sulmona, known for its art, Easter traditions and the Giostra Cavalleresca jousting tournament. 30-40 minutes also takes you to the Sagittario Gorge, Scanno, the age old Sant'Antonio Woodland and Pescocostanzo.
