The agriturismo

The agriturismo is situated inside an archaeological site dating back to 200 BC in the medieval village of Loreto Aprutino in the heart of the Abruzzo hills, 20 minutes from the Adriatic sea and 30 from the mountains and Gran Sasso National Park.

 

The buildings are set on the foundations of a Roman villa and have been completely restored in keeping with the original structure.

The accommodation

The main building is a mansion dating back to the mid 19th century and is home to the bedrooms for guests.

 

Furnished with great attention to detail, they are spacious and come with free Wi-Fi connection, en-suite bathroom with shower, bidet and courtesy toiletry set. Some rooms have double windows and a panoramic view of the mountains or the garden.

The restaurant offers menus based on traditional local dishes with ancient flavours, while all guests are offered free breakfast made using the farm’s own produce.

Activities and surrounding

Those who seek relaxation can take walks along the trails in the estate’s woodlands, sunbathe on the shores of the private lake or sit in the reading room with a good book, while food and wine lovers can take part in cookery courses and tastings of the farm’s own produce.

The local associations organise rock climbing and hiking, while Gran Sasso National Park is just 30 km away.

The area also offers art and history with visits to museums, hermitages and churches (church of Santa Maria in Piano with the fresco of the Last Judgement), archaeological sites (Capuchin necropolis and the Neolithic settlement of Colle Cera) and wildlife watching at the Lake Penne WWF oasis (15 km).

We are sorry we did not live up to your expectations, for dinner there was a misunderstanding due to the language, you wrote in Italian: "we want to dine in the restaurant in the evening! We thought you would eat out, in a restaurant nearby, not in a farmhouse. Otherwise we would have warned you of the impossibility due to the party. Moreover, we have written on the site that there is no half board but you have to ask day by day for availability. On Sunday at lunch we cooked for the guests of the rooms but you did not want to eat at the farm. As for the abat jour you could have asked for them, we would have gladly brought them to you, (we don't have them in the rooms where there are secondary lights not direct with streep leds). Also for the bathroom, there are rooms with larger bathrooms, which have a different price, but if you would have asked, we would have satisfied in case they were free. Unfortunately we notice that you are afraid to ask for something but then you write reviews without any fear, and it is a pity because some things could be solved very easily by talking to each other.
