The agriturismo
Just 2 km from Cassano Murge and 25 km da Bari, the agriturismo stands in the Alta Murgia National Park, on 30 hectares cultivated with vines, olive trees, crops and vegetables, grown using organic, sustainable methods, in production processes powered using solar power which do not emit CO2.
The farm produces wine, oil, vegetables, honey, dairy products, jams and more using only its own or other zero mile ingredients.
The accommodation
In 1988, the Plantamura family, looking to enhance the cultural, food and wine heritage of the Upper Murgia region, converted some of the buildings and stables on its old farm into guest accommodation, and joined the Regional Agriturismo Register, becoming the region's 24th agriturismo. Today it offers 4 ensuite guest rooms.
The typical local cuisine is prepared using characteristic wood burning ovens and grills, making the agriturismo similar to a South American "churrasqueria", but of course the specialities are Apulian and Mediterranean: carn' ca cipodd' (spit roasted lamb ribs with onions), spit roasted kid goat and lamb, salsiccia (a mixed veal and lamb salami), fumanti ghiimiridd' (spit roasted rolls of lamb or kid goat giblets with parsley).
There are two lounges with open fireplaces and bathrooms accessible to disabled guests.
