The farm house has its origins in the XVI Century. It was built as a farm and the inhabitants worked the surrounding farmland in the Nardò countryside. The fortified farmhouse forms the heart of the complex surrounded by it's lands, courtyard, gardens, a chapel, a traditional wood oven and a portico, stables, barn, tower and a dry stone wall.
In the XVIII Century the Masseria was enlarged and became the prestigious residence of the Pagano family, Princes of Avetrana and Barons of Castrignano del Capo,Strudà and Vanze.

Today, after Centuries as a working farm, the Masseria has become in part a place where the visitor can experience the tranquility and natural resources, history and happy, simple agricultural lifestyle in Salento.
By careful construction five accommodation suites have been created retaining the original ceilings with “volte a Stella”,” a botte” and “a padiglione” lying on very thick walls.

The rooms lead off an ancient courtyard from where you can see the 1500's building in the background. From the rear windows you can enjoy the scents, perfumes and colours of the orangerie and pergola.
The service includes weekly change of sheets and towels. Typical breakfast included.
There is ample car parking within the grounds. Babysitter service. Internet point. Animals are allowed (previously telephone agreement).
You can relax in the garden under the shade of the many varieties of trees.
There are bicycles (6 unit, 3 man and 3 woman) available to enjoy the countryside or the city of Nardo.
