The agriturismo

Ancient farmhouse in Calvello (860 m a.s.l.) in Val Camastra, surrounded by vegetable gardens and orchards, from which the mountains of the Lucanian Apennine National Park can be admired, a short distance from the wonderful villages of Anzi, Abriola and Laurenzana (where there is a swimming pool). Streams fed by springs flow through the estate.

Enrolled in the Regional Register of Organic Farms since 2001(Bioagricert Certification) it raises, free-range, sheep, goats, black Lucanian pigs, horses and farmyard animals.

The accommodation

The 6 rooms offer scenic views, TVs, Wi-Fi and bathrooms with showers and hairdryers.

You’ll also find a communal lounge with TV and board games, 2 rooms for events and ceremonies, a solarium with shower, a play area, a terrace, a wood burning oven, a conference room, a classroom, garden, riding centre, bridlepath, pond and trails for strolling through the estate’s woodland and clearings.

Guests can enjoy traditional cuisine made with the farm’s own organic ingredients, according to ancient recipes (“manate e fagioli”, an Italian bean soup, “lagane e ceci”, a pasta and chickpea dish, and ricotta ravioli with Lucania ragù).

Activities and surrounding

20 minutes takes you to Camastra lake and river, and 30 minutes to the ski slopes of Sellata-Arioso and Monte di Viggiano.

Just a short distance away you’ll find Monte Volturino, the Fossa Cupa di Abriola and Abetina di Laurenzana Reserves, and the Sacro Monte di Viggiano, Monte Saraceno, Monteforte and Monte Siri Sanctuaries.

40 minutes takes you to the Albano di Lucania Adventure Park, the Volo dell’angelo (Angel Flight), the Via Ferrata, the Sette Pietre Trail and the Nepalese Bridge in Castelmezzano and Pietrapertosa. Just an hour away you'll find the Stones of Matera, the Magna Grecia Museum in Metaponto, and the National Museum of Siritide in Policoro.
