The agriturismo
Nestled in a park of 80 ha, half of which is planted with organic citrus and stone fruits, the farmhouse stands in the heart of Magna Graecia, along the Ionian coast, and owes its name to the 14th-century tower, a defensive bulwark of the town of Albidona.
The Masseria has been carefully restored with respect for its origins. The layout of the buildings and the names of the individual houses tell the story of how agricultural and livestock farming was organized in the 19th century: the sheepfolds and cattle shelters at the top, set in a semicircle; the workers' dwellings at the base, close to the processing rooms.
The accommodation
The Masseria has superior rooms and mini-apartments with fully equipped kitchens (studios/apartments), which can accommodate from 2 to 4 people. All solutions are equipped with independent veranda with panoramic sea view and surrounded by greenery; bathroom (also for the disabled), air conditioning, Wi-Fi area, equipped green park, large parking area,private beach service, and hourly transfer to/from the beach. Accommodated guests can use the swimming pool during the day.
The Masseria's restaurant, located in the center of the accommodations, is a large glass window where guests can admire the large terrace overlooking the Gulf of Sibari-Taranto.Here guests can taste the dishes of chef Acciardi, who carefully paints his dishes with 0 km, combining typical Calabrian cuisine with attention to innovation and seasonality. In spring/summer they dine poolside.
Activities and surrounding
The context of the Masseria is excellent for excursions, being able to choose between itineraries of a historical nature, in the heart of Magna Graecia (Sibari, Mataponto...) or among the Sassi of Matera or to medieval castles (Rocca Imperiale, Oriolo...). Routes of a religious nature, among sanctuaries(Madonna delle Armi in Cerchiara di Calabria...) and monasteries or the "Byzantine" Rossano; routes of a naturalistic-sporting nature, canoeing on the Lao River or canyoning in the Raganello torrent near Civita, as well as numerous adventure parks and other types of sports (angel flight, paragliding...). Strategic position on the sea (0.9 km) and a few kilometers from the Pollino National Park Unesco Global Geopark, where there are numerous routes (trekking, mountain biking, horseback riding...) in search of the Pino Loricato. Numerous are the eno-gastronomic itineraries (licorice of Rossano, bread of Cerchiara...).
