Bed and Breakfast Borgo Riccio

A garden with over 400 olive trees, some centuries old, alternating with white fig trees, a renowned local speciality, surrounded by flowers and Mediterranean vegetation. This is Borgo Riccio, hospitable as much as typical, the ideal place for a slow paced holiday. In Borgo Riccio you can enjoy the Southern Sun and the tranquility of the Cilento and Vallo del Diano National Park, a UNESCO Wold Heritage Site, yet you are only a few miles away from lively bathing towns such as Palinuro, Amalfi and Positano, and world renowned cultural sites such as Paestum, Velia and Pompei. Borgo Riccio is the place where each sense is satisfied: the sound of the crickets, the perfume of the jasmine and the rose, the superb view of the olive trees on the silvery hill slopes, and that of the sea behind them with Capri in the distance; the taste of the home made preserves and the “acqua sale”, made with home produced oil and home grown tomatoes, the pleasure of touching the stone of the low walls, the leaves and the flowers of the garden.

Here you will experience the pleasure of reading a book within the walls of the meditation room of the South turret, and the pleasure of an open air bath under the shade of the orange and lemon trees. The rooms are located in two buildings, Lower and Upper, linked by the stone steps that wind their way along the flower garden under the shade of the olive trees. Spaces for relaxation have been planned so as to allow guests to spend time either in the three sitting rooms, or outside , according to their preferences: the sun terrace; the breakfast areas in front of the houses; the well being area with its large Jacuzzi between the Lower house and the turret of the Rose bedroom, the  reading areas under the olive trees; and the meditation room in the South turret.

Views from the bedrooms extend over the surrounding hills, the town of Agropoli with its old quarter, the sea and, far away, the island of Capri. The interiors are furnished with taste and simplicity in different colours. The rooms, full of character, contain some pieces of old family furniture, with many other objects and paintings brought home by the owner from her endless globetrotting. Each room has all the amenities: telephone, TV, Internet, private bathroom with bathtub and shower, air conditioning. There is a common fridge for every two rooms. In the garden you will find an open air shower, chairs, loungers, hammocks and driving range. Breakfast is served in the apposite rooms, or in the open, on stone tables under the pergola of the Lower house or the portico of the Upper house. On request, a shuttle is available from Agropoli Station to Borgo Riccio.
