Spina Rossa
Casal Velino (Salerno)
- Traveller rating:
At the top of a knoll, surrounded by green mountains and hills, the farm dominates the valley. Not so far two important archaeological sites, Paestum and Velia, still show their intact beauty of Greek colony.
There are a lot of little countries along the coast or into the hills to visit: Acquavella, Casalvelino, Acciaroli, Castellabate, Palinuro, Marina di Camerota, for example.
Who wants to take a walk into the wild of nature can reach Monte Stella, Monte Sacro, Punta Licosa, Punta degli Infreschi. Very impressive could be the visit to the Grotte dell’Angelo in Pertosa and those in Castelcivita so as a visit to the Carthusian monastery of San Lorenzo in Padula: all of them are only few tens of kilometres far from the farm.
The farm holiday can be a good starting point for a day trip to the other well-known Campania beauties: Naples, Salerno, the Amalfi Coast, Capri, Pompei.
The estate offers a lot of quite corners for people who prefer to spend some time in a complete relax: the reading of a book, the painting, the photography. Moreover, in particular periods of the year it’s possible to take part to the farm activities: the olive-harvesting or the simple walk in search of wild herbs could be a singular and extraordinary experience.
