An agriturismo in Monte San Pietro, in the hills, just a short distance from Bologna. 100 hectares of land and guest accommodation in a stunning farmhouse (La Torre), as well as a quiet private residence, Il Colmo, surrounded by woodland and sprawling meadows.

The entire estate is certified organic (and produces an outstanding organic wine), with photovoltaic systems to provide the energy required.

The accommodation

La Torre is a late eighteenth century farmhouse designed by the famous Bologna architect Dotti. You’ll find a swimming pool with loungers, also accessible to Il Colmo guests. The old stables now house the riding centre which hosts the horses of the Montevecchio pony club, winners of a host of national and international competitions.

On the first floor, where the original eighteenth century architecture remains intact, there are two rooms and one apartment, all with original period furnishings.

Il Colmo is a short drive away, or a pleasant stroll through the estate’s fields and woodland. The early twentieth century building and original architecture remain, along with the historic furnishings. Here you’ll find 3 apartments (Capriolo, Ghiro, Tasso) and a loft (Istrice) with private garden.

The names of the apartments (Deer, Dormouse, Badger and Porcupine respectively) feature just some of the animals you might spot in the surrounding woodland.

Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the agriturismo.

Activities and surrounding

The Montevecchio Pony Club is a riding school recognised by the Italian Federation of Equestrian Sports. Children and young people can enjoy exciting horse and pony experiences.

You can also tour the vines and the wine cellar, explore the farm and meet the farm animals.

Bologna is just 20 km away, with its airport and train station with high speed line. An hour takes you to Modena and the Monte Sole History Park. The sea is a little over an hour's drive away.

Unfortunately I have to make a mistake to our guest. When the gentlemen made the chekin asked for the opportunity to take advantage of the pool to other friends who did not stay at our farm. He was answered yes, but with the recommendation to have regard for the other guests in the pool. Instead, the noise and confusion were such that some were forced to leave.
