The agriturismo
The agriturismo, in the heart of the Tosco-Romagnolo Apennines, offers relaxation in a peaceful, unspoilt location, in tune with the rhythms of nature.
Surrounded by a warm atmosphere and a large garden, guests can also avail of a swimming pool set in the greenery and sample organic, traditional Tosco-Romagnola cuisine.
The earliest historical records of this place date back to 1515, when it was a hostel for wayfarers, run by monks: hospitality has thus always set this place apart, and many still remember the lunches and festivals that were once organised, particularly on Easter Monday when people flocked to spend the holiday by Lake Quarto.
The accommodation
The rooms, with bathroom, telephone and TV on request, are furnished in rustic style and set in a large garden with two swimming pools (one for adults and one for kids). There is also a play area, a beach volley court and beach tennis court.
The farm produces fruit for jams, potatoes, vegetables in summer, chestnuts and meats, raising lambs, sheep and poultry and acquiring choice Romagnola cattle from nearby farmers. The restaurant, which seats 80 inside and offers a fine veranda in summer, is a convivial setting where diners can rediscover old traditional dishes from the area, the Upper Savio Valley, where farming was difficult and the local culinary imagination made the most of available resources.
