The agriturismo
Nestled in the nature of the Senio valley, the ancient village dates from the 12th and 13th centuries. The recent renovation has kept the old stone buildings, which have been converted into rooms for the restaurant and accommodation, all with antique furniture.
Farm produce is the basis for the dishes on offer.
The accommodation
The comfortable porch and three large rooms used for dining have been added to the original structure. Farm produce is used according to traditional local recipes, traditions which the family intend to carry on.
The complex provides accommodation and board in 5 rooms with bathrooms, two of which are communicating. The agriturismo has separate entrances to accommodate families and large groups.
Since 2009, a comfortable swimming pool has been available for guests and there is an exhibition of farming artefacts from the first and second world wars, showing a glimpse of what life was like on the farm many years ago. A room dating back to medieval times is now used to sell traditional local produce directly.
Activities and surrounding
Enclosure with fallow deer and other animals on the farm. The agriturismo has a fully-equipped riding stables and offers guided tours on horseback. Qualified instructors are available for riding lessons at all levels. Horse boarding is also available at the stables.
The area is particularly rich in trails for horse riding, quad biking, walking or mountain biking. The river Senio allows fishing and relaxation at various points. Since 2011, the agriturismo has had special rates with the Terme di Riolo spa centre.
Nearby: Mount Battaglia (715 m above sea level), on which stands the keep of a military fortress (12th century), the Church of Valmaggiore, Mount Cece and Mount Mauro, the Cartello Museum and Park, the Abbey of Valsenio, the Terme di Riolo spa centre and the medieval towns of Brisighella and Palazzolo sul Senio. Florence is 70 km away. Ravenna, Bologna, Ferrara and Mirabilandia are 60 km away
