The agriturismo
Legend has it that the shade of the old mulburry tree in Borgo Floreani became The emperor’s repose when, in 1797 Napoleon rested under the canopy of this tree that still today thirves at the centre of the courtyard. Today, Federica and Carlo welcome all those who wishes to enjoy the rural atmoshpere of their traditional farm and the peace of the place.
The accommodation
Borgo Floreani is a good example of a typical farm of the Friuli. The traditional architecture of stone enclosing a courtyard, which is evolved over the centuries, from 17th century until today. In the rooms of the old listed building, have been created a variety of accommodations which all have modern facilities and en-suite showers. The standard rooms, mini-apartments and the family suites are bright, spacious and offers enjoyable respite. The kitchen offers traditional regional dishes homemade with the farm-grown products. Freshly picked vegetables, jams, marmalades, pickles, meats, charcuteries and wines reflect the passion for authentic and simple food. The cusine becomes an experience for all senses when appreciated while warming up by the old auger during a cold winter’s night or enjoying the mountains view from the ‘Well garden’ after a summer’s bicycle ride Various courts divide the outdoor spaces. In the maincourt the guests can have the breakfast or dinner or enjoy the swimmingpool. The backyard is devided in herbs & fruits garden and playground for little guests. Few steps to reach the animal park, the vegetable fields and the vineyard. The old barn, refurbished with the exposed trusses and large glazings, can be used for a variety of events such training courses, seminars, business or private parties, all which can be serviced by Borgo’s catering. A calendar of events includes food tasting evenings, music, folklore and historical re-enactments and other entertainments which take place in the old barn or in the courtyard under the stars.
Activities and surrounding
The farm offers many opportunities for recreation. Its location almost at the centre of the region makes it an excellent base to discover the Friulian and neighboring treasures, whether joining the occasional hike or excursion organised by Carlo and Federica or exploring on your own.The area is also ideal for cyclists, who can tour the lush surrounding hills or rest during the way in the Cyclo route AlpeAdria that pass next the farm.
