The agriturismo
L'Oca Bianca is an old group of small farm houses dating from the beginning of the 20th century, situated approximately 400 meters above sea level offering accommodation in 5 comfortable independent apartments.
Situated approximately 45 km south-east of Rome, the L’Oca Bianca, offers the possibility to participate in various excursions and trips to cultural or natural sites, to suit all tastes, all easily accessible from our farm.
The accommodation
The apartments consist of two large rooms, a kitchenette and a bathroom; in front of the built-up area is a large garden with a children's playground and a swimming pool, exclusively reserved for guests.
In the dining area you can enjoy a simple and genuine cuisine, all based on fresh products, mostly produced and sold by the farm, such as honey, oil, chestnuts, dairy products, and sweets. Refreshments, banquets and poolside evenings are organized.
Activities and surrounding
Donkey rides along nature trails and chestnut forests; these are Miccio Amiatino donkeys bred on the farm.
Educational programs for groups of children who will be shown the working and harvesting phases in the countryside of olives, sowing, honey and cheese production, how wheat is turned into bread.
Sport fishing lake a few kilometers from the farmhouse.
Adjacent to the farmhouse is the healthy spring of Acqua di Santo Stefano, hardness 3.05 acalcic, diuretic, anti-goutic, one of the lightest in Italy. The Santo Stefano spring has been and still is a source of attraction for its waters, which have therapeutic characteristics.
In Cave there is the Museum of Peasant Civilization, the Geopaleontological Museum and an astronomical observatory; at certain times of the year it is also possible to participate in numerous quality musical and choral events organized by local associations.
Undergoing cultural-historical and urban redevelopment and reevaluation is the historic center of Cave, former fortress of the Colonna family, where it will be possible to visit the Palazzo Leoncelli, soon to be a detachment of La Sapienza University of Rome, and the former Augustinian convent, also dating back to the 12th century and the current seat of the municipality. Inside the former Augustinian convent it will also be possible to visit the Ferri Museum (Lorenzo Ferri, 1902-1975) dedicated to the famous artist and scholar of the Holy Shroud. Also of considerable archaeological importance are the churches such as that of S. Stefano Protomartire (upper and lower), S. Maria, S. Carlo, S. Lorenzo, and Madonna del Campo, where you can admire numerous frescoes and works with dates as far back as the 10th century.
