Villa Olcimia
Capena (Rome)
- Traveller rating:
Villa Olcimia is situated just a stone’s throw away from the eternal city of Rome, and in the midst of plenty of artistic, historical sites to see while in Lazio. Thanks to its position between the hills and valleys, it’s nice and relaxing to walk into Capena, where you will find lovely, beautiful places. Throughout the countryside there are plenty of Roman and medieval sites and architecture to be discovered, like the archaeological site of Lucus Feronia, the church of San Michele Arcangelo, the medieval castle with its convent, the lion of Sant’Antonio, and the Puzzo lake.
There’s also numerous local and traditional manifestations and events that are held every year. In particular the Feronia Festival (a music and theatre festival), that takes place in July, the 15th of August Festa dell'Assunta and the Festa dell’Uva (Feast of the grapes) in October where you can eat grapes and drink wine for free.
