Poggio di Montedoro

The organic farm produces extra-virgin olive oil “Canino”, one of the main local products of Tuscia region. In autumn we also offer the guests the possibility to take part to the grape and olive-harvest.
A welcome gift will be offered to our guests at their arrival. The farm proposes a wide range of activities to explore the region and its natural beauties as well as its historical towns and archaeological sites. Here are some of our proposals: Culture and history of this region and of the old inhabitants of the Northern Latium, the Etruscan people. We still have important traces in Tuscania and Tarquinia, two picturesque cities where is also a very interesting necropolis. We can also propose you a arkeo-trekking in Vulci. You will also be enchanted by medieval towns as Viterbo or villages, Renaissance villas as Villa Farnese in Caprarola, Romanesque churches as in Tuscania and historical gardens as in Villa Lante in Bagnaia, Parco dei Mostri in Bomarzo. All these destinations can be reached in less than 1 hour by car.

Wellness: we propose you a healthy staying with special packages including a Break-slow, a masseur with different kind of massages at your disposal for one day in a week, Yoga in the wood at the sunshine. Furthermore we offer you one day at Viterbo's Terme dei Papi spa in the thermal swimming pool with reduction for body treatments. The spa is well known for its healing properties and is far only 20 Km; Taste of local food with its traditions and flavours; wine tasting of the typical DOC local wine Est!Est!!Est!!! in the characteristic wine cellars in Montefiascone, the sweet cannaiola wine of Marta and aleatico in Gradoli; top-quality d.o.p. Canino extra-virgin olive oil for a taste and a visit to the laboratory in Canino, the well known oil village nearby.

Sport enjoy bike to explore the region independently (we rent bike) or escorted by ourselves with one of our bike tour proposal; you also can sailing or wind-surfing in the beautiful Bolsena Lake; trekking all around or arkeo-trekking in Vulci. Or simply relax in our outdoor swimming pool Nature of the volcanic Bolsena Lake, the pureness of its water and the beauty of the two islands Bisentina and Martana reaching by boat. One hour's drive from the farmhouse you can reach Tyrrhenian sea and the lovely coast of the Argentario promontory in Tuscany, a ideal place also for free climbing and trekking in Parco dell’Uccellina. A very interesting out of ordinary place is Vulci Natural Park where you will be in wild and still pure natural environment. Art and historic cities: 5 Km far from Agriturismo Poggio di Montedoro is the railway station with daily connections to Rome. The trip takes only 1 hour and half to reach the Termini railway station in Rome. Furthermore, many buses leave from Montefiascone to Rome. Further cities are also connected from Montefiascone railway station: Orvieto and Florence.
