Loc. Usurana,1, Calice al Cornoviglio 19020 Calice al Cornoviglio (La Spezia)
The farm is situated on the hills of the 'Val Di Vara' valley, very close to the Cinque Terre, it offers hospitality in rooms, local wines, dishes and other products made only with organic ingredients produced in the farmhouse.
The name 'I Due Ghiri' in Italian means 'TWO Dormouse': these two were found still asleep by the workers during the refurbishment of the farmhouse in the winter of 2001. The farm, which occupies almost 16 hectares, is situated on the hills of the 'Val Di Vara' valley, very close to the Cinque Terre in Liguria, one of the most beautiful regions of Italy famous everywhere for its fantastic local products such as olive oil, pesto dressing, home made pasta and bread and many others.
The agritourism has got a restaurant too, but the kitchen is not a real restaurant. Gaia e Stefano, “i due ghiri” (the two dormice) prefer to define their restaurant as “a kitchen for friends”. What you get on your plate comes immediately from our garden: vegetables and organic fruit, olive oil, meat from the farm, bread, homemade pastas, desserts and marmalades. All this forms the basis to prepare every day some simple, but tasty meals. Every night we share this meal, while sitting on a long table with our friends all together. That’s the greatest pleasure!
There are large double and quadruple rooms, with private bathrooms. In addition, there are apartments available.
There are plenty of interesting and beautiful places that can be visited the atmospheric >Cinque Terre, the enchanting Poets' Gulf , the fluvial park of Magra-Montemarcello born that offers endless opportunities to spend whole days in pleasant and alternative ways, Val di Vara, Lunigiana, recommending to visit Pontremoli, the town of books and the Bancarella prize, the village of Filattiera and the parish church of Sorano, the small towns of Mulazzo and Montereggio, Bagnone and its surroundings, Fivizzano, also called the Florence of Lunigiana, and the village of Verrucola, the castle of Fosdinovo, and so many other sights.

There simply is nothing to complain about our stay and experience. The hosts are warm, welcoming and extremely accommodating. The food is filling, fresh and delicious. Gaia and Stefano go out of their way to welcome you and make you feel at home while offering a wealth of knowledge of the surrounding areas as well as their farm, food and wine. The room was big and very comfortable. Overall this was A perfect choice for a place to stay while visiting the cinque terre area. We were very happy to have the relaxing and peaceful atmosphere, but also being in close proximity to other destinations.
I Due Ghiri is very quiet about half an hour north of La Spezia instructed in the mountains, that one is on the car. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. Cleanliness was ok. The breakfast was very "Italian" - here we would have liked a bit more fruit. The dinner was very good, but could well do with some more variety.

The agriturismo was a group of stone cottages set in the mountains. There were dogs, cats, sheep, chickens, geese, Muscovy ducks, guinea-fowl ... The owners were extremely friendly and did everything they could to welcome guests of all nations in their own languages. The dinners provided on the outside verandah were an experience to be remembered: the hosts also publish a book of recipes.
The one reservation is that the hosts really ought to keep duplicate keys for the rooms: two couples managed to lock themselves out! WiFi was also rather slow and unreliable.
