The agriturismo
The farm, located in a hilly position in the immediate hinterland of the Cinque Terre in a cool area of the Val di Vara, offers hospitality in an old stone farmhouse, equipped with rooms and kitchen using mainly farm products.
On the property there are various activities such as cooking classes , wine tasting , rafting and raft rental.
It has an electric vehicle charging station.
The accommodation
The farm covers an area of about 20 hectares where olive trees, fruit trees, chestnut trees, vegetables and aromatic plants are grown organically ( AIAB certification) and sheep and farmyard animals such as chickens, chickens, guinea fowl and turkeys are raised.
Hospitality is offered in an old stone farmhouse, recently restored in full respect of local tradition: two small dormice disturbed in the midst of their winter sleep by the renovation work gave the farm its name.
Large double and quadruple rooms , all with independent bathrooms, and apartments are available.
The farm also offers food service, but the farmhouse kitchen is not really a restaurant-Gaia and Stefano, "the two dormice," prefer to call it "cooking for friends."The organic vegetables and fruits from the garden, the oil, the farm meat, the homemade bread and pasta, the cakes and jams, are the starting point to prepare every day something simple but tasty, to share every evening with friends in front of a long table, all together: this is the greatest pleasure.
Activities and surrounding
The structure and location of the farm offer several possibilities for activities: for those who simply want to relax on the farm and for those who want to engage in hiking, on foot or by bicycle, starting directly from the farm and connecting to the network of paths of theAlta Via dei Monti Liguri or the Magra-Montemarcello park.
For those who prefer the sea and other destinations easily accessible by car, including: the picturesque Cinque Terre, the enchanting Gulf of Poets, and the Magra-Montemarcello river park, which offers numerous opportunities to spend pleasant and alternative days.
New: possibility to spend a day of absolute relaxation in the enchanting beach of Fiascherino near Lerici (special price for farmhouse guests).
And also the Val di Vara , which is a large green area in the hinterland of the Province of La Spezia, and Lunigiana, which owes its name to theancient Roman colony of Luni, recommended visits to the town of Pontremoli, the village of Filattiera and the parish church of Sorano, the towns of Mulazzo and Montereggio, Bagnone and its surroundings, Fivizzano, known as the Florence of Lunigiana, and the village of Verrucola, and the castle of Fosdinovo.
Also recommended is a visit to the marble quarries of Carrara: from Carrara we head to the areas of Fantiscritti, Campocecina from where there are sweeping views of the quarries below and can follow the marble being transported downstream, and then Pian della Fioba and Isolasanta, in the territory of the municipality of Massa. An almost obligatory stop is the town of Colonnata, home of the famous lard.
Within a 1-hour drive from the company are Pisa, Lucca and Genoa.
