The staff will not fail to take guests to visit the animals: donkeys, sheep, Tibetan goats, pigs,a sow, horses, geese, ducks, pigeons, chickens, guinea fowl, turkeys, rabbits, bees and of course the trout in the 10 pools breeding and hatchery, where the laboratory is the hatchingof the eggs of trouts.

Cardano
This quarter of the Commune Grandola Ed Uniti which has very well conserved its old character, still preserves in the centre its urban settlement of the Middle Age.

Nature Reserve Lago di Piano
The Lake of Piano is the one conserved best among the lakes of the Lower Alpes; its lakesides are covered with wide woody zones and large reeds. Many species of animals find protection there. The lake itself is populated by a great variety of fishes.

Sass Corbèe
This is one of the traditional walks which the guest of the Chioderia take during their stay: to the Cyclopean boulder which dams up the water creating turbolences in it.
Sass Corbèe is reached in about 30 minutes on an unsurfaced and lightly rising path which conduces amidst the quiet of a wonderful nature along the Sanagra river where it may happen that you see a common heron fishing trouts in the river or a deer.

The Oak "Rogolone"
An imposing oak of the type Quercus petraea which belongs to Italy's protected monumental trees and is subject, since 1928, to the protectorate of the Italian Ministry of Education and today also to the patronage of the association "Italia Nostra".
Under its crown, once the wise men, the elders of the neighbouring villages met to pronunce sentences and to make important decisions.

The river Sanagra, principal source of life of the breeding of trouts of the firm, is separated in the two zones of fishing: to valley of the bridge, says "Vecchia Chioderia", the fishing is free (with license of fishing) while awry of the bridge the fisching is also subject to the payment of a daily permission of fishing buying near the "La Vecchia Chioderia".
The "Vecchia Chioderia" is a good point t undertake walks of short or long duration both in the valley of the river Sanagra that in the adjacent valleys.

Rifugio Menaggio
The Refuge Menaggio is situated on a meadow beneath the Monte Grona with a fantastic view on the Lake of Como and the surrounding mountains, and is one of the most typical destinations for family or group excursions.
This refuge, situated on a rather low plain (1,400 m above see-level), can be easily reached on foot on pathes, sometimes paved, which lead through chestnut and birch woods.
