The agriturismo
The Agriturismo Castello di Vezio has a unique view over Lake Como, 2. 5 km from Varenna.
The olive groves of the Agriturismo produce an excellent quality DOP oil for sale to our guests.
The houses and the apartments are country houses furnished in modern style and totally equipped with everything you need.
13 apartments and houses, some of which are located in the center of the small village of Vezio, for a total of 60 beds.
The property is surrounded by wide gardens of olive trees with breathtaking views of the lake, 3 swimming pools, a tennis court, bocce court and a playground for kids.
Varenna can also be reached on foot via a path that can be traveled in about 15-20 minutes.

The accommodation
The agriturismo offers different types of accommodation, such as villas with swimming pool and self-contained houses, all enjoying the spellbinding panorama and surrounded by gardens with olive trees.
Casa Cima (for 8 people) with private swimming pool, is located at the entrance of the property such as Casa Selva. Casa Milena with its enchanting view of the lake can only be reached on foot. Casa Giovanni, Casa Giulia and Casa Donato surround the shared pool. Casa Cristina and the 2 Lofts (Mansarda and Mansardina) are located in front of the main garden. While in the center of the village of Vezio we find Casa delle Rose, Casa Costanza, Casa Benedetta, Casa Leo and Casa Siddy.
Activities and surrounding
Our guests can play tennis (subject to the payment of a fee) and from 2008 bowls will also be available. The agriturismo also offers the possibility to organise wedding or meetings and take part in cooking lessons.
The property comprises a century-old olive grove which produces a limited amount of superior quality oil which is sold in a stylish 3-bottle pack.
The agriturismo is a stone's throw from Castello di Vezio (Castle of Vezio), which the guests can visit free of charge. The castle's gardens offer a panorama of the middle section of the lake. It's possible to attend the falocnery shows. A visit to the castle's basement is especially interesting.
Vezio is a village situated on a promontory halfway along Lake Como, which was originally a Ligurian Celtic, possibly even Etruscan, settlement dating back to the VI century B.C. At the beginning of the Twentieth century the village was acquired by the Greppi Family.
The agriturismo overlooks Varenna, an ancient lake hamlet. Similarly to Vezio, its earliest settlers would have been Ligurian Celts and subsequently Romans. Documents date back to 493 A.D., when the history of Milan was documented by Coiro.
Varenna's lake-front still features classic and elegant villas, characterised also by gardens of remarkable botanic interest.
