The agriturismo
The farm is situated in the heart of an unspoiled valley on the slopes the Cesane, the famous wooded hills outside Urbino. The are several signposted itineraries for pleasant walks in harmonious natural surroundings and from the hills the views stretch as far as the sea, less than 30 km away.
The accommodation
The stone farmhouse has recently been restored, fully respecting the original features of the structure. Its special position makes it a very peaceful place in the ancient tradition of Marches rural areas. In addition to having all the charm of a Marches country house, with brick arches, wooden beams, terracotta floors and stone walls, the apartments are comfortable and functional, with fully-equipped kitchens, heating, independent entrances, and a patio giving onto a large garden.
The farmhouse is surrounded by spacious grounds, equipped with benches, tables, hammocks and swings, while a centuries-old enormous oak in the middle of the garden provides cool shade for pleasant open-air lunches.
Activities and surrounding
Near the village of Isola del Piano, the farmhouse is set in a valley entirely farmed with organic methods (a tradition going back 40 years) on the slopes of the Urbinohills, a vast unspoilt woodland area with views of the sea and mountains.
The splendid Renaissance gem of Urbino is only 15 Km away, while the Adriatic coast with the charming historic ports and seaside resorts of Fano and Pesaro is 30 Km. There are also many other towns of historic interest in the environs: the lively market town of Fossombrone (the ancient Roman Forum Semproni), Mondavio famed for its castle and wax museum, and Cartoceto with its celebrated olive groves and oil, to mention but a few. Beyond the stunning gorge of the Furlo and the imposing Apennine mountains (Mt Catria 1.600 m.), Gubbio and Umbria can be reached in less than 1 hour.
