The agriturismo
Located in the province of Oristano, in the characteristic rural town of RiolaSardo, this agriturismo is located near the sea and offers accommodations in renovated rooms in a former chicken coop. The simple and family-like atmosphere makes this the ideal place for those who want to relax in a setting of great cordiality.
The accommodation
The agriturismo is made up of two separate structures overlooking a lush field.
The first, made with sand stone, is a former chicken coop now turned into comfortable rooms with bath. The rooms, covered with a wooden roof, have all things necessary in order for you to spend long periods of vacation here.
The second, consisting in the master residence, also hosts a small restaurant and gracious portico, where many guests look for some moments of relax.
In the garden you’ll find a wild olive tree, a hybrid olive tree, a grinding wheel and ancient jars, which bear witness to the various phases of olive oil production, which the family has dedicated itself to since the 1800s.
Activities and surrounding
The farmhouse’s great location allows guests to reach by car in a very short time the splendid shores of the coast (mainly a protected marine area) and the mountains (up to 1000mt). There are many beaches and all have different characteristics. You may discover a new one each day.
The area’s archeological sites are among the most important on the island: the ancient city of Tharros (Phoenician in origin, then Punic and subsequently Roman), the Nuraghe Losa, and the sacred well of S.Cristina are but some of the most significant sites. Some nature walks are also interesting here, especially those near the swamps safeguarded by the Ramsar international treaty and inhabited by pink flamingos, where you may enjoy bird watching.
At circa 3 km away you’ll find a motocross sand track, where some Dakar bikerst rain, and the prestigious golf club Is Arenas.
Food tours also propose extraordinary products: Botargo, Vernaccia DOC, Nieddera, Casizolu, typical Sardinian meat, and many other specialties. Particularly interesting are the numerous country feasts, represented by archaic rituals and splendid costumes.
