The agriturismo

It is a “palmento” of the nineteenth century (old lavic stone structure used to press and store wine, for working, enjoying, meeting people) located at Puntalazzo, a small village at the floor of Etna, facing the sea in a panoramic position between Taormina and Acireale, a “Palmento”: it keeps untouched, still nowadays, the fascination of that time.

The accommodation

Large and lightly rooms show a panoramic landscape of the coast and join the old tradition and charme of typical furniture, hand wrought iron and solid chestnut-wood, to the most modern comforts (air conditioning in some rooms, TV Color, phone, frigo bar).
Comfortable flats are also available with kitchen and private areas outside.

The restaurant, with its arcades and floor in original lavic stone, will let you discover the most authentic flavours of Sicily.
At guests' disposal, beside the restaurant and the bar with the still untouched and big wine press, the small rooms, where the grape-must was left to rest and which still smell of wine, today TV room and reading area.

We stayed 2 days at the old wine farm.
The apartments are spacious and clean. We were warmly welcomed by the owners. Proprietress speaks good English. Breakfast and dinner is served with home Made dishes, really delicious.

We went to have lunch in this structure yesterday on the 1st of May ... little lunch as quantity, the food was fresh but lacked in flavor, slow service and poor staff. The price of 30EUR asking for food is not worth it.
