The agriturismo
The realisation of the dream for the Savoca family, this organic farm was created in 2013; the old stone farmhouse, surrounded by woodland, was renovated in line with tradition, using green building techniques.
As well as accommodation, this “agri-resort” offers high quality cuisine, based on Sicilian menus with a modern twist, pizzas prepared using naturally raised dough and the finest raw ingredients, as well as an extensive selection of Sicilian wines and hand brewed beer.
The accommodation
This old farmhouse from the 1700s features natural materials such as wood and stone, Liberty style period furnishings and warm Mediterranean colours. The air conditioned rooms also include TVs and bathrooms.
Guests also have access to the breakfast room and lounge, outdoor salt water swimming pools with sun terrace and sunbeds, whirlpool with thalassotherapy salts and treatments, play area, barbecue zone, bicycles, Wi-Fi, vegetable garden and orchard.
Depending on the season, guests can sample spring greens, dandelions and asparagus in spring; fruits, berries and jams in summer; game, mushrooms and potatoes in autumn, and strong flavours in winter.
Your little ones will love getting to know the agriturismo’s cat and dogs.
Activities and surrounding
The agriturismo offers cookery courses and guided tours of the farm’s organic olive press, the Villa Romana del Casale in Piazza Armerina (7 km away), and visits to pastoral farms with tasting of freshly made cheese and ricotta.
The surrounding area is ideal for trekking and mountain biking. The Valley of the Temples in Agrigento is around 95 km away, Taormina 150 km and Syracuse 110 km.
