The name of the Bannata farmhouse, which is also the same name of the area that it is located in Enna, derives from Arab meaning “land kissed by the sun”. The stone farmhouse style of typical 19th Century inland Sicilian architecture is also accompanied by a pre-existing structure from the 18th century in which lived herders and farm animals. They both are surrounded by rocky hillside named Bannata-Restivo and woods centuries old. Situated at the end of the “Path of Alliance” – which begins in Norway and traverses Europe leading to Sicily –Bannata offers ideal hiking, mountain and road biking and other great opportunities to reconnect with nature.

3 small apartments with 9 functional beds in total, amenities include a dressing room, en suite bathroom. These apartments are derived from the rural areas such as: the poultry house, barn, and house of the pastors.
Room Laura: Three-room flat – double room with cloakroom and bathroom. Walls with ancient stones spaced by white plaster. Museum-peasant structure. In the furniture there are: a nineteenth-century wooden swing cot, a prie-dieu, a “conca”, a “comoda”, a “vriutulo”, a washbasin made of marble. The bathroom has stone walls.
Room Cocò: Three-room flat – double room with two added beds. The room is made out of a stable of small animals. The manger and the “ribatteria” are complete. The bathroom, originally depot of jars of oil, has the peculiarity of a double shower.
Room Clementina: Three-room flat – double room with one added bed, cloakroom and bathroom. The big built-in “stipo”, once used to preserve the household goods, has become a wardrobe. The toilet table made of wrought iron, the travelling trunk, a blanket chest for the bread and a eighteenth-century Sicilian “buffetta” constitute the furniture of the room. The detail of the room is the washbasin made of grit, in the cloakroom.
