The agriturismo
Borgo Alveria country resort arises on the site of an ancient monastery of the Orders of Friars Minor, built in the 1451 and razed to the ground by the great earthquake that destroyed ancient Noto in 1693. It is situated 700 mt away from the Porta Aurea of Noto Antica and about 10 km away from today's city, and it is marked by the extraordinary beauty of the surrounding naturalistic, archaeological and historical landscape.
The accommodation
The resort includes a long farmhouse hosting the restaurant and, beyond an old stone portal, some 18th century blocks renovated with a contemporary taste for hospitality. The façades have been completely restored bringing the original amber-coloured stone to light. Rooms, have been restored according to a contemporary comfort and taste, joining modern design furniture and Sicilian antiques. There are different types of rooms (12, double and triple): classic, superior, deluxe and family, which change according furnishings, scale, location and services offered.
There is also a relax area with breakfast and tea lounge, a solarium and a swimming pool. Several orchards, gardens and 19 hectares of land, partly grown and partly wild, allow to choose at all times between a relaxing reading in the shade of a carob tree and a long walk in the nature.
