The Vinschgau Valley stretches from the Reschen Pass to Kastelbell/Tschars. The whole valley covers an area of 1.441 square kilometres and it bounders with Switzerland and Austria.
Via Claudia Augusta
VIA is a project with the goal of strengthening the countryside along the Roman roads.
An important feature of this project is its all-round orientation, i.e. the integration of all strengths and interests within one particular region.
By joining forces, it is the intention to initiate a lasting and independent regional development.

Alive & Active
From soft to hard, from the mountains to the valley, from an Alpine meadow to a village – South Tyrol’s varied landscape is an El Dorado for all nature lovers, epicures and active holidaymakers. Experience your personal well-being in one of the 4-star hotels.
While hiking to the Stilfser, Soyalm and Schliniger Alpine meadows, you will not only enjoy watching the life of a dairymaid, but also get a chance to try fresh milk and very tasty mountain cheese. On a weekly basis, we offer a visit to a Vinschgau mountain farm, a grain mill, a wine-growing estate or a distillery, where you will get the chance to experience the true roots of our traditional valley. Guided tours of marble quarries, cities and dams open some of the many Vinschgau characteristics to you: the world-famous Laas marble; Glurns, the smallest town in the Alpine region and the sunken church tower in Lake Reschen. From July to mid September, the little participants of our Kids Club will enjoy hiking, playing, treasure hunts and experience great adventures to their heart’s content! A true “activity kick for couch potatoes“ is the new trend of Nordic Walking.
This new “health movement“ strengthens your heart, circulation, and muscles and plays a part in losing weight. In the Vinschgau, beginners and the “advanced“ of all ages can get going with a licensed Nordic Walking instructor. Another highlight of the Vinschgau summer is the Stilfser Joch National Park: hiking, game watching and panoramic drives to mention only a few things.
