Playground for children

For the children there is a great playground with swings, playhouse, sandbox, playground slide, climbing fence, a large wooden tractor, garden shower, table football and table tennis.

For a barbecue you can use our grill in the garden at leisure. In a small shed in the garden there are also rabbits looking forward to fresh grass or cuddles.

Farm and farm aanimals
Show your children how the cows get milked, the calves get fed and how the milk gets to the breakfast table. Very funny are the curious goats waiting for a piece of bread from the hands of your children. Lisa, our tranquil pony, loves to get brushed and be stroked. Our rabbits are in the garden, where they live in a small den with a nice room to move about. They too are looking forward to fresh grass or bread served over the fence.

A highlight of your children’s holiday is certainly riding with our pony Lisa on our meadow behind the barn.

Enjoy your evening at the mountain hut of the Schötzerhof in a parlor game in the candlelight, and then fall asleep in the fragrant hay.

Summer activities
The flat and easy trails and the numerous possibilities for a stop at different mountain huts make Meltina a paradise for hikers, cyclists and horse-riding fans, but also for families with buggies. Especially popular is the Salten with its flat larch’s meadows and with stunning views of the Dolomites. The hiking bus Mount Tschöggel connects the 4 villages of Avelengo, Verano, Meltina and Genesio, and therefore opens endless hiking possibilities without using a car.

Experience South Tyrol
The central location of Meltina is suited for trips to the Dolomites, to the Lake Caldaro or Lake Garda. In only 30 minutes you can reach the cities of Bolzano and Merano for a leisurely shopping trip or for a visit to the Ötzi Museum or the Messner Mountain Museum at "Firmian Castle". Merano is known for the most beautiful garden of Italy "Trauttmansdorff Castle", the "Sissi's Walk", "Castle Tyrol" and the "Thermal Bath” of Merano.

Winter activities
Take a walk with the snowshoes to numerous mountain huts in a dreamy snowy landscape far away from mass tourism. A well-groomed toboggan run and cross-country trail on the Möltner Alm provide winter fun. We have 2 sledges and 2 pairs of snowshoes you can use.

You can enjoy skiing in the ski resort Meran 2000. The ski area can easily be reached by ski bus, which departs at only 50 meters from our house.
