The agriturismo
The recently renovated structure is located about 500 meters above sea level. You can reach it by travelling through the beautiful Valle di Chio, after a short 20 minute drive from Castiglion Fiorentino.
It is perfect for those who wish to enjoy a relaxing vacation surrounded by nature. Saunas and whirlpool tubs are available to the guests and interesting artistic-cultural sites are within easy reach.
The accommodation
The Valuberti settlement can be traced back to a period just before the sixteenth century although there are still some traces of older buildings. During the 1570s, in fact, some houses and a "large mill", which is no longer active, were noted. The cadastral data dating back to 1648 showed a settlement similar to the one recorded in the Land Registry of the Grand Duchy of Tuscany in 1823 although enlarging and reconstructive operations were subsequently recorded as indicated by several inscriptions on buildings as well as on the small church that enriches the village, which was built in its current form in 1853.
Borgo Valuberti is a small rural village once inhabited by poor farmers and woodsmen, recently restored while fully respecting the existing architecture and original materials. The agritourism is an oasis of peace and relaxation surrounded by the forest and the green Tuscan hills, divided into four independent apartments, one that is on three floors.
The Borgo is equipped with a pool and sauna, is furnished with refinement and can also be rented as a single unit.
Activities and surrounding
Those who wish can use the sauna that was built near the pool. It is a dry sauna which is the original sauna or, correctly stated, a sauna in which the temperature can reach 80-100 °C, causing abundant perspiration, while the humidity does not exceed 10-20% except when water is thrown on the stones. Inside the agritourism there is also a whirlpool bath and a lighting system planned for chromotherapy.
It is the ideal location for a peaceful and tranquil stay, just a short distance from the most important cultural centers in the area: Perugia, Assisi, Spoleto, Gubbio, Siena, Arezzo, Florence, Cortona and Castiglion Fiorentino. Mountain bike excursions, cultural artistic trips or the simple contemplation of the surrounding countryside are all opportunities you can enjoy at the agritourism.
