Fattoria La Striscia

Construction of Villa La Striscia started in 1500. Enlarged in 1700, it was restored a century ago by its owner, Count Pier Ludovico Occhini. Once the summer residence of the Occhini family from Florence, the villa is now managed by Ilaria Occhini, a well-known stage actress. With the same passion she had for the stage, Ilaria Occhini dedicated herself to restoring the farm and the granary adjoining the villa, transforming them into four charming apartments decorated with the prestigious, early 19th century furniture from the main villa.

The swimming pool, with its sun beds and plenty of shade, is only a few steps away from the farmhouse. A path among the vineyards of the estate quickly leads you to an enchanted place where peace and quiet reign supreme. The countryside's charm makes time stand still, evoking the landscapes painted by Raphael, Leonardo da Vinci and Piero della Francesca.

The Italian Art Nouveau garden, with its beautiful pool and fountain and furnished with comfortable wicker chairs, deck chairs and tables that are perfect for picnics, offers guests another oasis of calm. The Villa's location, only 1 km from the historical center of Arezzo, places the convenience of the city at your fingertips: the supermarket, antique and textiles shops, and the stylish restaurants and wineries downtown. Starting from July 2005, upon request, the Villa will also offer tasting sessions of typical Tuscan culinary specialties and of wine from the Occhini cellars, awarded two stars by the Gambero Rosso guide.

Apartment descriptions
Casa Gioconda (200 m2): Accommodating 4 to 6 people, it is ideal for a family or a group of friends. It is very elegant and cozy. It has 2 main bedrooms and 1 bedroom with 2 beds, a large living room with a fireplace, a dinette kitchen, 1 bathroom with bathtub and 1 bathroom with shower.Ample balcony, private garden equipped with picnic table and deck chairs for relaxing.
Casa Gioconda (40 m2): Accommodates 2. It is part of Casa Gioconda, although the two may be made completely independent of one another. The cozy mansard bedroom, whose bathroom is equipped with a bathtub and an elegant mirror over the washbasin, is separated from the living room area by a wide arch fitted with silk meadow-colored curtains. Two antique wardrobe panels conceal the small kitchenette in the living room. It has an ample balcony and a private garden with a table and two armchairs. Casa Ilaria is perfect for a couple that enjoys privacy and elegance.
Casa Giacinta (70 m2): It accommodates 2, with the possibility of adding a third bed. This apartment is ideal for a couple. The warm walls envelop every part of this elegant apartment. The large sofa, the beautiful bookcase, the light hardwood floor, the large fresco on the walls, the modern dinette kitchen, the beautiful bedroom with its antique wrought-iron bed, the pastel-hued bathroom with its spacious shower, and the view on the Italian garden make this apartment a real jewel. There is no balcony or garden, but guests may use all of the estate's outdoor facilities.
Casa Caterina (40 m2): Accommodates 2. This miniature apartment with sage-colored walls is the embodiment of country charm. A cozy, intimate getaway, it is ideal for the couple seeking the simple yet elegant atmosphere of the countryside. The beautiful bedroom, with its painted wrought-iron bed, overlooks the Italian garden; a kitchenette, a charming living room and a bathroom with shower complete the apartment. The apartment is adjacent to Casa Giacinta, with which it shares the main entrance. Upon request, the two apartments may be joined, for a total of 4 guests. There is no balcony or garden, but guests may use all of the estate's outdoor facilities.
