The agriturismo

The farm is located less than 3 km from Dicomano and is part of the S. Iacopo complex in Orticaia – dating back to 1100, once the home of Camaldoli monks, the complex includes a church of the same name, with centuries of history: in 1260, Pope Alexander IV named it "Conventus Ecclesia S. Jacobi Ord. Sancti Augustini"; later, in 1513, the church was made part of the Santa Maria degli Angeli Monastery in Florence by Pope Leo X, before becoming, in the XX century, property of the ancestors of Count Alessio Gentili.

The agriturismo features the original wooden beams and a typical Tuscan open fireplace; it also offers a fully-equipped kitchen and modern home comforts for those looking for a pleasant, relaxing holiday with beautiful views of the entire Mugello Valley.

The accommodation

Next to the church you’ll find the guest apartment: the ground floor comprises the fully equipped kitchen, hearth and wood burning oven, 3 bedrooms and a bathroom, while on the first floor you’ll find 2 more bedrooms and a second bathroom.

The large garden with views of the Mugello valley is the ideal place to relax with a glass of wine from the organic farm itself, which cultivates using traditional methods, producing olives and PGI Mugello chestnuts, seasonal vegetables in its vegetable garden and fruit in its orchard.

The farm also rears Limousin cattle, listed in the herd book.
