The agriturismo
Agriturismo Podere Campriano is located in the heart of the Chianti area, halfway between Florence and Siena. Recently renovated, inside the old farmhouse it offers a warm and familiar atmosphere with accommodation in rooms or apartments. The farm produces Chianti Classico and Supertuscan wines using ancient methods and organic farming, D.O.P. oil and extra virgin olive oil.
For the type of stay, marked purely on the discovery of wine products, relaxation, tranquility, silence, that guests seek here, our facility is NOT suitable for children.
The accommodation
The winery is situated near (500m) the centre of the Greve in Chianti town, provincial capital of the wonderful area denominated "Chianti Classico".
This house offers two suites, one double bedroom and two apartments. The stay is the one of an hotel in the countryside!
Suites, Ele and Vale, are large, comfortable rooms, realized on two floor: on the ground-floor there's a large living-room with sofa,refrigerator with mini bar and the private bathroom with shower; on the first floor, mezzanine floor, the large double bedroom with wood floor.
The apartment Pilu is realized for four people and it has two bedrooms both with its own bathroom, an equipped kitchen and a dining-room. Outdoors area are in common with other guests.
Serra's apartment is a new accomodation, structured all on ground floor, it disposes independent entrance and private garden. Inside, there's the large double bedroom, the bathroom, equipped kitchen with living area.
Double bedroom Loggia is a room of 25 mq on one floor, it disposes mini bar and private bathroom with shower.
All accommodations are part of the farm, with some part in common.
The Winery is the first activity and it was born three generations ago. It produces today 13.000-15.000 bottles of wine with modern methods and in organic way. Wines that you'll find are Chianti Classico D.O.C.G., Chianti Classico D.O.C.G. Riserva and Supertuscan I.G.T. made with only Sangiovese grapes.
On demande, we arrange group cooking classes and private cooking classes only for ADULTS: an amazing way to learn and appreciate the chianti receipts!
Activities and surrounding
Cooking class: group (min 4 ADULT participants) or private ( min 2 ADULT participants) cooking classes around the wood-fired oven and family kitchen. Included in the cost, class, winery tour, lunch with wine tasting.
Located in a panoramic position, the salt water pool offers guests the opportunity to relax and sunbathe in the large sunbathing area.
It is possible to reach on foot some small stores and mini markets for the daily shopping.
The farmhouse is located a few minutes from the center of the town of Greve in Chianti, an important crossroads of the past that today develops mainly in the market square made in a triangular shape in whose sides there are arcades adorned with typical stores. The town church dedicated to Santa Croce contains a painting by Bicci di Lorenzo. The museum of sacred art, opened in the former convent of San Francesco, houses important collections of paintings, sculptures, clothes and liturgical accessories.
In the surroundings of Greve, there are the ancient medieval village of Montefioralle, the town of Panzano in Chianti with its Romanesque church of San Leonino as well as numerous castles used in the past as defensive bastions or elegant summer residences such as Uzzano, Verrazzano, Vicchiomaggio and Lamole. For those who love trekking, there are several routes to Monte San Michele (892m).
