Giardini di Varrone
Grosseto (Grosseto)
- Traveller rating:
It is situated in the verdant plain which lies at the feet of the mythical Etruscan Roselle and spreads to the sea and is therefore always pleasantly ventilated, it enjoys a particularly mild climate in all seasons. Around the hamlet, after the park and lawn, extends 42 hectares of farmland cultivating vines, olives, corn and sunflowers.
A romantic lounge offers a reading corner furnished with books and magazines cool in the summer and beside an open fire in the winter. Here a small, beautiful door leads to the cellar where one can sample the farm products: wine, oil, jams, olives, honey and always-seasonal fruit. An open-air lounge gives the possibility of refreshing oneself at a fresh water spring, beside the pergola and barbecue.
The sea, beach or rocks are 10km. away.
Two minutes away: restaurants, typical festivals, theatrical events in the Etruscan ruins or castles, convents and historical abbeys. But even the it feels as though one is a long way from modern life, the supermarket is on hand as well as the swimming pool, golf, horse riding and all to be discovered.
