The Podere Donzellino is located on the hill crest of Massa Marittima, the main historical centre of the Tuscan upper Maremma area, not far from the town, 400 metres above sea level. The property extends for 23 hectares, most of which are woodlands and Mediterranean scrub, with five hectares of olive groves. The typical Tuscan farmhouse building was mentioned in Leopold’s property register in the late 1700s and old, printed maps also indicate it.

The Podere Donzellino is formed of the classic Tuscan farmhouse with all the outbuildings needed for the farming activity and to make it self-sufficient: the oven, the carriage house, the stable, the pigsty, the barn, the sheepfold, the poultry pen, the rainwater tank. In recent years we have carefully renovated everything to adapt it to the needs of modern life, while still retaining the traditional construction systems to be able to restore the atmosphere of the past. The large stable has been converted for the reception area and other activities such as tasting the farm’s oil and other produceThe pigsty is located next to the barn and this hosts a billiard table; you can also play cards, table football and darts here. From this year, a chlorine-free swimming pool is also available for the pleasure of guests who want to swim and relax without going to the seaside, which is in any case only half and hour away.
Twin apartments have been constructed in the barn (Olive and Lavanda); each one is about 50 m² and has a living area with sofa bed, kitchen nook, double bedroom and bathroom. All cooking facilities are supplied, including refrigerator and microwave oven. The décor colours (olive green and lavender) are inspired by the apartment name. A private garden outside is partly paved for a dining table and barbecue. The Limoni apartment has been constructed in the fully renovated old sheepfold; it is about 50 m² and has a living area with sofa bed, kitchen, double bedroom and bathroom. All cooking facilities are supplied, including refrigerator and microwave oven. Outside is a fenced veranda and garden.
The old poultry pen and kiln is the site of the Casa delle rose surrounded by a lovely garden. On the ground floor is the living room with sofa bed, kitchen with refrigerator, dishwasher and microwave oven, double bedroom and bathroom; on the first floor is a double bedroom and bathroom. A handy veranda can be used outdoor living. All the apartments have bathroom with shower and hairdryer, window screens, TV, heating and safe deposit box.
