The agriturismo

An agriturismo part of a farm on a slightly hilly location, from which guests may admire the stupendous view of the
sea, the Isola del Giglio, a forest, the Diaccia Botrona and the Promontory of Castiglione della Pescaia with its
unmistakable castle. The farm also offers vineyards that make Doc Monteregio wine and olive groves, both new
and centuries-old.

The accommodation

Thefarmhouse consists of 5 apartments .

The apartments, all independent with garden, large outdoor spaces and outdoor swimming pool with seasonal opening, have been built in the belief of offering guests the opportunity to regain possession of their own rhythms of life, in absolute relaxation alternating moments of rest with excursions to the nearest archaeological sites, days of sun and sea on the beaches of Castiglione della Pescaia.

The owners' family personally welcomes guests and is available for any advice or suggestions regarding the itineraries of greatest interest.

The farmhouse is also structured to accommodate disabled guests.

Activities and surrounding

The agriturismo is located in a privileged position to reach, in short time, attractions and for many sports activities: tennis, minigolf, golf, stables, skating, racing, trekking, bicycling and excursions on mountain bike, surfing, sailing, canoeing, sea diving, fishing, hunting, bird watching, kit surfing.

For beach lovers, there are numerous ones in the area, like Rocchette, Marze, Cala Civette and Cala Violina, one of the loveliest nearby.

Guests may also easily reach the islands of the Tuscan archipelago, like Giglio, Formiche, Giannutri and Elba. Nearby you may also admire natural oases and parks like the riserva naturale della Diaccia Botrona with the Casa Ximenes, the Parco Regionale dell’Uccellina, the Centro Carapax of Massa Marittima and the Oasi di Burano.

For relaxation lovers, stop by a nearby spa, at Saturnia, Venturina or Petriolo.

There are many interesting sites nearby for their history, archeology, and landscape: Castiglione della Pescaia,  Punta Ala, Massa Marittima, near the agriturismo. Don’t miss Pitigliano, Sovana, Sorano, l’Argentario, Populonia  and the Golfo di Baratti. For archeology lovers: Parco Archeologico di Roselle and the Museo Archeologico di Vetulonia. For art lovers: Siena, the city with its famous Palio, only 90 km away, Pisa, 140 km away, Florence, 166 km away.

For wine lovers, you may visit the many wine cellars of great interest, where you can taste and buy excellent products like the famous "Brunello," "Morellino," "Montecucco," "Monteregio di Massa Marittima."

We stayed a week in the detached house, a very nice and very quiet. The pool, impeccably cleaned by Alvaro the owner, is wonderful and also does not use chlorine but another product that does not dry the skin and does not burn the eyes.

I have been managing Il Frantoio since 2001 with my wife.

As well as we welcome the guests, we are responsible for communication, we take care of the crops.

I decided to manage an agriturismo because to pursue a passion
