In the year 2002, the small family-run farm "La Meria", until then mainly based on the production of wine and olive oil, started with the business of offering holidays on a working farm. "La Meria" means in the local dialect of the Maremma "the shadow" and was inspired by the enormous shadows produced by the numerous cork trees surrounding the whole farm.

The accommodation is formed by a newly built building, subdivided into 4 one-roomed flats, each with independent entrance, access area to the bathroom, bathroom with shower, completely equipped cooking corner and small furnished veranda. The accommodations are all on the ground floor, with furniture in a simple, but well-cared Tuscan country style. Around the building, a huge garden and numerous cork trees that are more than hundred years old. Embedded into the green of the Mediterranean "Macchia", the hilly position allows a stunning view over the sea and the antique medieval village of Castiglione della Pescaia.
