The agriturismo
The country house is located in the territory of MassaMarittima, close to the wonderful places of Maremma. You are welcomed in a small village with a stone farmhouse surrounded by independent cottages.
The infinity swimming pool(18x6 m) fits perfectly into the nature giving coolness in summer.
The accommodation
The estate spans 27 hectares, with olive trees, arable crops and Mediterranean shrubland. The agriturismo’s slightly raised location (200 metres above sea level) and proximity to the coast ensure the ideal climate, with a cooling breeze in summer, and dry in winter.
The accommodation was created from the renovation of the old Il Caglio farm, completed using natural materials such as stone and cork, with respect for the original lines. The agriturismo offers 4 independent apartments, each with different colours and furnishings, and their own private patios with tables and chairs. All apartments include bathrooms and kitchenettes. The main house includes two additional double rooms with bathrooms and scenic views.
The 18 x 6 metre infinity swimming pool blends perfectly into the surrounding nature, a cool refuge in summer.
The estate has its own fitness trail, perfect for trekking and Nordic walking through nature too. The trail includes signs indicating the local flora and fauna.
Activities and surrounding
Cala Violina is 35 km away, while 25 km takes you to Baratti with its pine grove, and the white beaches and dunes of the Sterpaia Park are just 20 km away. From Piombino (30 km) you can take a boat trip to Elba and the islands of the Tuscan Archipelago.
The Maremma is a beautiful region, home to beautiful spa centres (Calidario in Venturina Terme, 12 km, and Sassetta, 20 km). You can enjoy horse riding at the local riding centres, golf at Golf Club Punta Ala (45 km) and Golf Club Pelagone in Gavorrano (28 km), as well as sailing, diving and windsurfing in Punta Ala or Puntone (30 km).
The region also has much to offer in the way of art, fromthe medieval city of Massa Marittima (10 km), to the ancient hamlet of Castiglione della Pescaia (45 km), the San Galgano abbey and the Montesiepi hermitage (45 km), the sites of Baratti (15 km), Populonia (29 km) and Vetulonia (40 km), and the archaeological remains at Roselle (60 km).
