The agriturismo
The estate stands in green surroundings, 10 km from the centre of Grosseto, near the Ombrone River, in a slightly elevated spot.
Poggio Cavallo is also ideal for parties, ceremonies, tasting, business meetings and events, which can be held both indoors (in the 200 m2 conference room) and outdoors.
The accommodation
A road shaded by age old cypress trees, a three-storey nineteenth century farmhouse, an ancient spring: the farm is structured in keeping with the traditional Maremma estates, and is still perfectly preserved, with wooden features, original furniture and large open fireplaces.
Guest accommodation is provided in 4 mezzanine rooms, with exposed beams, terracotta paving, TVs, veranda space with tables and chairs. There are also apartments with bathrooms, air conditioning, TVs and kitchens, leading on to the garden, with hill views.
The restaurant is located in the old stables and offers typical cuisine with homemade desserts.
The swimming pool (12x8.5 m, 1.20 – 2 m deep) is surrounded by olive trees, and boasts a saltwater purification system and lights for evening bathing. The Olive Room is a communal space where guests can enjoy breakfast, read one of the books from the library, or play table football.
You'll also find a scenic terrace/solarium and a tasting room where you can sample the farm's oil and other fine local produce.
