The agriturismo
The agriturismo is set in the woods of the Apuan Alps. Great attention has been taken to reduce the environmental impact of the activities connected with the accommodation facility: from organic farming to water purification, from water consumption to the building methods used on the site. The cuisine is based on products grown on the farm.
The accommodation
The agriturismo has two three-bed rooms and four double rooms (which can also be used as singles), with their own bathroom, independent entrance, autonomous heating, household linen, safe and a small library. One room has cooking facilities. Also at guests’ disposal, free of charge, are a lounge with TV and Wi-Fi Internet connection, and a Whirlpool (for 5 people)
There is an attic apartment with living room and kitchen, refrigerator and bathroom with shower, crockery, safe, household linen, heating and a small library; it also has a panoramic view from all the windows.
The old stable has been converted into a cosy restaurant with 30 places and a heated veranda with 60 places. In the kitchen there is a small wood-fired oven for baking bread, roast meat and oven-baked vegetables. Guests are offered typical dishes from Garfagnana as well as exclusive recipes using the trout raised in the waters of the Grotta del Vento. Try the Focaccia Leva di Gallicano with salami and pecorino cheese from Garfagnana or smoked trout, and end with a home-baked cake.
One of the activities at the agriturismo is trout fish farming in the waters of the Turrite di Gallicano stream. This is the only fish farm in Tuscany specialised in yellow trout, also known as Japanese trout.
