Well situated it is possible to reach Lucca’s historical centre, surrounded by its ancient Wall, within a few minutes.
- close by are also the Ville Lucchesi: splendid architectural testimony of Lucca nobility;
- to also cycle along the banks of the River Serchio in the Parco Fluviale or cross the Hills on mountain bike to the sea;
- to explore the surrounding areas: the Versilia coast and the Garfagnana mountains are about thirty minutes away by car, the Cinque Terre lie about 50 kilometres from here;
- within easy distance of the main Tuscan towns: Pisa, Firenze, Siena.
For those who enjoy sport there are tennis courts, a riding centre and jogging areas in the vicinity.

Ideas and suggestions:
Lucca Markets: antique and craft, the 3rd and 4th  week-end of each month, the ordinary market every Wednesday and Saturday.
The wine road: trips to enjoy and sample regional wine and food specialties at the farms set amongst the Lucca hills, as well as local wine and oil.
The Opera: Giacomo Puccini was born here! During the year there are many occasions and places where one can go to listen to the works by the famous musician.
Summer Festival: Concerts with International artists held during July in the historical Piazza Napoleone.
Il Settembre Lucchese – Lucca in September: a month of cultural, religious and folkloristic events.  On 13th September is the Luminara – an unforgettable experience: the entire town accompanies the Volto Santo in a suggestive procession along the streets of the historical centre. Murabilia: A plant and flower show, some of which are rare, is held during the first week of September on one of the Wall’s bastions.
 Verde Mura: The same location for this event on ‘living outside’ held at the end of March. Here again there are plants and flowers, as well as out-door furniture and garden equipment.
Comics: International event dedicated to comics, animated films and games held at the end of October.
