Located along the river Lima, after attentive and conservative restoration work and bio architecture of an ancient and medieval market town, it offers lodging in apartments. At 2 kilometres from the Baths of Lucca spas, it is immersed in the sun and surrounded by nature. It offers lodging in apartments accessible after entering a gate, roads in the woods and an evocative bridge that guarantees calm and exclusivity.

The ancient market town of Piano di Fiume was populated up to the Second World War. Then the difficult living conditions caused the area to become slowly abandoned. Its preservative restoration, based on the most modern criteria of bio architecture (solar panels, herbal purification, cork insulation, recovery of the pre-existing and utilization of traditional materials) is part of an ambitious project that is integrated in the surrounding areas of Siena, through the apiculture and all beehive products, the comprehensive cultivation of farming product foods. The objective is the creation of a happy island, an autonomous and self-sufficient environment that produce high qualitative standard staying away from low-level standards following the globalization, but at the same time competitive in the market.

The environment, extremely calm, is troubled only by the distant sound of the Lima River and birds that frolic free among neighbouring trees; only invited guests are able to go through the gate and a private bridge and one Kilometre of walk in the forest. Strolling in the 20 hectares of the property and along the private coast with crystal water from the river, it is not difficult to bump into ducks, squirrels, porcupines, rates, foxes, pheasants, deer, roe deer and other animals.
Ideal to rest from daily stress, the environment is also excellent for its formative and updating classes, as a teaching lecture hall is prepared.
In the tavern, making a reservation guarantees our guests a very special attention serving typical dishes of local traditions (firewood oven baked bread, home made pasta, ravioli, cottage cheese and local shepherd's cheeses, meats and fine sausages of the breeding in Siena, chestnut flour, honey, jams etc.) The market town has also an inviting little church.

The apartments are spacious and comfortable (40-50 square meters) and have enough room to spend time in the open air to eat something while enjoying life. The insides are composed by kitchen/living room, sofa bed, restroom, double room and they all have a chimney or stove for firewood. It exists the possibility of staying overnight only in rooms with private bathrooms. Each room has its own entrance directly from the roads of the market town. Because of the conservative restoration, every setting is different from the other one and each has its peculiarity.

The place offers a pool with solarium and sauna but the activities, for those who want, are infinite!
The river Lima recommends many natural wells where there is the possibility to do some rafting, canoeing, fishing, bathing naturally free in the crystal clear and pure water away from pollution.
From the property, the access to numerous beaches is easily attainable. They are ideal for an open air barbecue.

The walnut and oak woods behind the farmhouse offer the possibility to be in direct contact with the flora and fauna of the area. Numerous paths, beautiful to travel both on foot and by mountain bike (available for rent in the farmhouse) leave directly from the manor. A short way away by public transportation you can enjoy evocative places like the Pratofiorito, the Albereta, the Mountain of Limano, the Penna of Lucchio, the natural parks of the Balzo Nero and of the Orrido di Botri, from where trips can easily multiply themselves to the infinite. The riding school "Il Ruscello", organizes superb strolls on horseback. The presence of the teaching room offers the chance to organize classes of herbalist, mycology, cooking, including some practice following the classes. The owner of the farmhouse, Massimo Betti who is a pharmacist, herbalist, passionate mycologist and local historian is available for questions regarding information, contacts and guided tours.

Bagni di Lucca is a little town rich of history, above all during its splendours (from the 6th to the 19th centuries) it was longed by elite groups coming from all over Europe. Its thermal waters, with an amazing amount of 15 different types of waters and supplemented with two caves of natural steam, have no competition in any pathology regarding metabolism, arthritis and breathing. The architecture of the territory, beyond the numerous medieval constructions, is even more special because of monuments like the Anglican Church, the real Casino, the hospital Demidoff, the Circle of the Foreigners, the Bridge of the Chains.
The three town pools, the tennis courts, the stadium, are all sporty structures that complement the river Lima.
In the same surroundings, many locations are easily attainable except for a half an hour ride from the town of Lucca, the Garfagnana, Barga, the cave of the Wind, the Apuane Alps, the skiing center of Abetone.
