The agriturismo

Agriturismo that extends through the chestnut woods that characterise the Lunigiana area, in a natural amphitheatre with the Malaspina di Monti castle standing in the distance. The farm grows fruit and vegetables, breeds livestock and produces sausages, meats, vegetables in oil, jams and wine on site. Produce from the farm itself and others nearby is used to prepare traditional, home cooked dishes.

The accommodation

The agriturismo has been converted from an old stone barn that has been completely renovated. The basement, the old stables, is home to the restaurant. The upstairs area, once occupied by the barn, has been converted into accommodation, six self-contained rooms, all with ensuite facilities, characterised by large original beams and exposed roofs.

In front of the rooms is the swimming pool which is available to guests only.

A little further on is the riding stables and adjoining barn. Horse riding enthusiasts can go on wonderful rides, following the bridleways that start inside the property itself and intersect in the woods, offering an alternative, undoubtedly more attractive way to visit the Lunigiana area, heading into towns often dominated by castles or crossing through small medieval villages. For those who have never been horse riding and want to try it out, our FISE qualified instructor will be happy to accompany them on the first steps to explore this wonderful world. Those who prefer walking or mountain biking, on the other hand, can take advantage of the trails for this.

At the foot of the agriturismo is a small natural lake where guests can go fishing.

Activities and surrounding

The accommodation is an ideal starting point for nature and cultural excursions. Just a short distance away are: Monti di Licciana and the Malaspina Castle; Aulla and the ancient Brunella fortress; Sarzana, the heart of the Lunigiana area; La Spezia, the Gulf of Poets, military and commercial port. Starting point for ferries to Corsica, Sardinia and the Cinque Terre. Without forgetting Portovenere, a magical fishing village where you can still smell the sea.

Poor
Compared to some time ago, for me, the reception situation has worsened. The gazebo with tables and chairs has disappeared, there are no benches for the elderly and disabled. They can't go near the pool themselves, obviously. I don't think the restaurant's that great.... Read more
