Podere San Ferdinando

Podere San Fernando is within easy access of some of the most significant art and architectural treasures of Italy: San Gimignano (km. 30), Volterra (km. 30), San Miniato (km. 35), Pisa (km. 40), Lucca (km. 50), Florence (km. 70) and Sienna (km. 75).
You can easily visit the nearby Etruscan, Roman, Medieval and Renaissance sites, archaeological museums, the museum of country society. There is even an observatory where you can attend evening sessions to view the night sky.

Beaches can also be easily visited within a day's excursion: the sandy shores of Pisa at 40 Km.; the rocky shores of Livorno at 50 Km.; the famous Versilia at 65 Km. Throughout the year, a regular programme of events takes place in the surroundings: historical feasts, theatre and popular performances, concerts, folklore and village festivals, traditional feasts and antique trade markets.
If you like walking, you can enjoy the many tracks which range from easy to those of medium difficulty and where you can admire the wonderful Tuscan landscapes.

Skilled riders can have horseback walks and/or guided excursions, lasting from a couple of hours to the whole day including lunch in the open air.
Our stable can also house the horses owned by our guests. In fact, our centre is also a resting place for travellers on horseback. Bicycles and mountain bikes are also available for renting.

It is possible to participate in the agricultural activities of the farm; guests can also book in advance small group sailing trips which include on board lunch. (on a New Optimist – Carter, 38 feet), Or, you can take a trip in an ultra light aircraft to take a bird's eye view of the Tuscan hills.
For those who like to learn while they relax, we organise also numerous courses: Italian conversation, photography and Italian cuisine, that all take place in our farm.
The environment is also perfect for the children who will find here wide spaces for playing and for their “adventures”.
Services are all reachable in a few minutes by car: bakery and food, clothes, supermarket, bar, restaurants, pizzeria, post office, chemist's, medical doctor and first aid.
