Agriturismo Podere Santa Rita

This ancient, recently renovated podere is surrounded by the timeless charm of the Etruscan Coast, only 10 km from the sea; the surrounding nature is a vivid example of the Mediterranean type that distinguishes the region, characterized by centuries-old plants, terraced olive groves and Mediterranean gardens.

The Podere is located within an organic farming company on the Wine Road.

Guests will be welcomed in cozy independent apartments surrounded by greenery, well cared for to the smallest detail and furnished in a traditional rustic style that uses typical elements of Tuscan rural architecture (exposed beams, stone, terra cotta, arches, etc.). You can choose from a simple overnight stay or choose bed & breakfast, half board or full board.

Finally you can stay in our Yurts, the traditional mongol tent, surrounded by nature, with external bathroom. 

The La Torretta (4+2) apartment is an 95 square meter triple flat on two levels with a panoramic view of the woods and the Agrifoglio hills where the Nocolino Spring flows. It is made up of a master bedroom and a second bedroom on the upper level, kitchen, bath and large sitting room with a comfortable double sofa bed; the apartment is equipped with every comfort including washer, iron and ironing board, refrigerator, electric oven, microwave oven, barbecue, high chair and children's games, TV, DVD and DSL internet access. The 70 square meter private garden is furnished with a table, chairs, umbrella, lounge chairs, etc.

The Il Maestrale (2+2) apartment is a cozy 60 square meter double flat that also has an 80 square meter private garden. It is made up of a master bedroom, kitchen with refrigerator, freezer and microwave oven, bathroom with shower and tub and finally a large sitting room where the comfortable sofa bed offers an extra bed.This apartment also has children's toys, TV, DVD and ADSL internet access.

The Double room - La Petra (2+1) is a comfortable room with bathroom and it's an ideal location for romantic couple.

The La Stanza del Pittore (2+2) is composed by a big bedroom, a bathroom, a little veranda and a big terrace with panoramic view. The setting is made precious and original through the artistic works and the paints of Angelo Labruna.

The Restaurant and its natural cooking at the farm offers its guests an ever-changing menu of "imaginative and natural simplicity." Breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks can be enjoyed both outside in the divided garden that winds through pavilions and bowers with an evocative view of the aromatic herb gardens as well as inside the podere with the unfailing "focarile" in a typically Tuscan setting.

Seasonal goods are obtained from the company's organic farming such as vegetables, fruits, nuts, chestnuts, honey, preserves, limoncello and aromatic and medicinal plants, but above all an excellent extra virgin olive oil.
It is also possible to taste other traditional foods (wine, grappa, cheese, cold cuts...) from scrupulously selected local organic companies.

The Playground and the school of ecology open air, offers to our young visitors many activities and courses for to learn something more about the rural reality, and to feel an authentic contact with the Nature. They'll find a large set of games.

Traditional cooking and gardening classes are held on-site. Theme gastronomic events are also organized during the year, especially starting in the beginning of spring and lasting until the beginning of autumn, taking place outdoors along with various types of artistic events which animate the adjoining gardens framed by oak trees. The farm's favorable position offers its guests a wide selection of activities and places to choose from: in fact, it is near some of the most renowned swimming areas of the Etruscan Coast(San Vincenzo, Vada, Castagneto, Bibbona, Cecina, Baratti, Castiglioncello,  Quercianella, Calafuria), where the sea is framed by long beaches lined with shadowy pine forests.

It is also possible to discover local nature which holds botanical preserves, animal refuges, woods and thick pine forests: including the Punta Falcone, Sterpaia, Rimigliano, Montioni, Poggio Neri and Colline Livornesi Natural Parksand the Bolgheri, Orti-Bottagone and Magona protected reserves.

The countryside crossed by the prestigious Wine Road is dotted with noble vineyards and olive groves: there are wine cellars, villages and towns, castles and characteristic restaurants along the road where traditional local products can be tasted in a unique historical context.

Etruscan civilization left important remains among which are the necropolis built by the sea (Baratti-Populonia), easily reached in a short amount of time.

Montescudaio is also an excellent starting point for interesting excursions to cities of art throughout Tuscany, to Pisa (45 km), Volterra (35 km), San Gimignano (55 km), Siena, Florence, Arezzo and Lucca. 

The area offers numerous possibilities for amusement in contact with nature or taking advantage of the proximity of the sea: fishing, underwater excursions and general aquatic sports (sailing, surfing, windsurfing) that can be done alone or at specialized centers; walks, hiking trails, bicycle rides and horseback riding excursions offer the possibility of enjoying the beauty of nature, surrounding oneself in the tranquility of the Mediterranean scrub.
