Bed and Breakfast Fattoria Poggio al sorbo

The original core of the farmhouse is a military tower dating to the 1200s, with remains of the original façade: a stone portal dating to the 1300s. In the 1400s it became a small country castle and today still maintains Renaissance characteristics in its high coffered ceilings, spacious rooms, stone decorations on the doors, and in the evocative interior courtyard with its well.

The large entrance portal (portrayed on the wine label) dates to the 1600s, when the building was restored and stables were created for carriages (today a lemon grove). The large stone house completed this small hamlet with a large central square, a panoramic terrace with fountain, the "sdrucciolo", a formal Italian garden, a park with sculptures by the artist Luigi Galligani.

Hospitality for 20 people. Stays in suites and rooms carefully furnished with a refined Tuscan taste. Reception: available for information and bookings. Breakfast hall: breakfast is served in an elegant restored room with original decorations in Montelupo ceramics and Murano glass. Tea room: room decorated with terracotta friezes and a lovely panoramic view. Parlor: with couches and armchairs, art books, guides and newspapers in various languages. Wine cellar: ancient cantina with stone vault: wine made on site is sold here.

SUITE 10: A small stone staircase in front of the grand portal from the 1600s gives access to this apartment for 4 people, and is composed of:
•    a panoramic living-dining area with large window overlooking the valley della Pesa, a large fireplace and elegant furnishings with couches and armchairs;
•    a small well-equipped kitchen unit;
•    2 master bedrooms (one with a large canopied bed and antique furniture) and a safe in each room;
•    bath with shower;
•    small garden with plants and flowers.

SUITE 11: Apartment with Tuscan stone staircase. For 4 guests, has a gracious dining-living room, with country style kitchen unit, 2 spacious bedrooms, a large canopied bed, bath with shower. Small garden with plants and flowers.

SUITE 12: Entrance directly upon the large square, in front of the formal Italian garden. For 6 guests, on two floors:
•    ground floor with parlor and dining room, with kitchen unit;
•    first floor with bedroom and antique furniture, bath-shower, a second bedroom overlooking the garden, stone wall, canopied bed. Each bedroom has a safe. In the square: garden table and chairs.

SUITE 13: Apartment for 4 guests with large glass door, small hall that leads to a spacious living room with couches and armchairs and a lovely glass dining table. Well equipped kitchen unit, two bedrooms, bath with tub and a second bath with shower. Large private garden with a centuries-old mulberry tree, plants, and flowers.

CAMERA BELLAVISTA: This gracious and romantic room for 2 with bath/shower, small fridge, microwave, and small balcony, is furnished in country style, with a private courtyard in terracotta, gazebo, and garden furniture, for a pleasant stay out in the open.
