The agriturismo
The hamlet was renovated by the Gioffreda family in the early 1990s, bringing back to life this stunning rural architecture in Gaiole in Chianti.
Since 2008, the cultivation of the vines and olive trees has been strictly organic.
The estate is ideal for weddings and celebrations, with ample open space to host up to 150 guests. The venue provides trusted catering services and marquees for use in poorer weather.
The accommodation
Guest accommodation is provided in stone houses with exposed beams, open fireplaces and terracotta paving. A range of accommodation options are available, from rooms to rooms with gardens and apartments for 2-8 guests.
All apartments enjoy their own outdoor space, private access and well-equipped kitchens. 2 person apartments are air conditioned and boast Wi-Fi zones. 6 person apartments offer three double bedrooms and two bathrooms with showers. The rooms with gardens feature open fireplaces and whirlpool tubs, while those with lounges boast double four poster beds.
In a more secluded spot you'll find the Villa Ultimo Eremo with views of the vines and a large garden with swimming pool. The ground floor of the villa comprises a large lounge with open fireplace, a double bedroom with bathroom, a kitchen and a second bedroom with bathroom. The first floor features a third bedroom with bathroom and scenic terrace. In the loft you’ll find an additional bedroom with bathroom.
Activities and surrounding
Guests can book guided tours of the vines and wine cellars, during which an oenologist will explain the winemaking process, from gathering the organic grapes to the production of the Chianti Classico Gallo Nero, available for guests to taste.
You can also enjoy Tuscan cookery classes with the agriturismo's chef, using simple ingredients to prepare delicious dishes.
Gaiole’s biggest event is the Eroica, during which vintage bicycles race along a 200 km route through Chianti, the Crete Senesi and the Orcia Valley. Nearby you’ll also find Siena with its Palio, castles and the Chianti countryside, ideal for trekking, horse riding and mountain biking.
