After a long car trip now Cetine Vecchie was on one of the typical Tuscan hills before us: an ensemble of four houses, the two older lovingly restored, flowers everywhere, and a welcome Costantino and Danusia, who received us so warmly and cordially as if we were once again their guests. The next joy was not long in coming: For me as a wheelchair was the accommodation (La Cantina) ideal - way entry, albeit a small shower, functional toilet with a handle, bed at wheelchair height and additional coolness at outside temperatures of 35 °, on the table stood a bottle of welcoming wine and olive oil from our own production. Our first discovery program led us to the south side of the hill, where we found a huge swimming pool and a romantic gazebo, from which we have a fantastic view over the hotel's own vineyards and the Tuscan countryside were - we were very enthusiastic, and this feeling lasted: in between, we received a basket of fruit from the gardens, we were surprised with a pizza dinner - and always a friendly response. Danusia and Costantino are sweetened with their kindness and concern for our well our holiday up in the beauty of Tuscany, in addition, we thank you here again soon, Sabine and Bernd from Hanover

Review:

We had the good fortune of staying at Cetine Vecchie starting July 31 for four nights that we had extended a day because we were so impressed. Upon arrival from our hectic stay in Rome we were met by Costantino and Danusia who were gracious and kind in every regard making us feel welcome and comfortable. Out of five or so accommodations over the course of a month from houses to beach front hotels from Rome to Venice we a family of five with three small children enjoyed this one the most.

Our upper level apartment La Stuffa - one of several renovated recently in the second generation farmstead and 8yr agriturismo - was an old barn that has all the comforts and cleanliness of home including a large kitchen had an incredibly large and private balcony with sun awning and table and chairs that we utilized for meals and drinks every day and night. The chickens, ducks, goats and sheep provided entertainment and the surrounding hills of grapevines and olive trees and pond provided tranquility we needed from the craziness of Rome. The view of the Tuscan hills was what you see in travel brochures and the view of the pool allowed hands free care of our children. Speaking of children there were several other families from different countries and the kid’s game area with bikes ensured a break for parents. The pool was large, cleaned every night and a delight in the hot sun.

The welcoming gift bottles of literally homemade wine and olive oil made were a nice touch. The home cooked meals whether you wanted a several course dinner served restaurant style by Costantino and Danusia themselves or a plate of pasta with egg noodles made that morning by Danusia and delivered to your apartment the time you provide were the best we had at prices that were unconceivable. The pasta dish that fed us five with left over for lunch the next day was 15 Euros. The sit down meal followed by a request for breakfast items a carton of milk and a dozen eggs picked that day totaled 50 Euros including a tip we wanted to give and modestly accepted with reluctance and gratitude.

Denusia spoke English, is an incredible cook and helped with every request. Costantino worked hard - one time even delivering wood for the BBQ we used to BBQ sausages we bought at a nearby store. Both were gracious, modest and committed to your memorable stay. Even his dad who also works hard in the background as does her mom all smile and say hello in passing.

Sorry for the length but given the quality of accommodation and food and care and the almost embarrassingly low cost of it all the least we can do is provide a little detail on why anybody who has plans to visit Tuscany or be well advised change plans to do so should stay here. A family from Germany stayed for two weeks something they did regularly. We are Italian and visited family in Rome and Venice and the best compliment we can give is that staying here was like being with family with the food and comfort just as good at a little more cost. Surely as close as one could get to being Italian living la buona vita.

Thanks Costantino and Danusia you are beautiful people living in a beautiful place. Thankyou for giving us the opportunity to experience a part of your life that is now one of our best memories of Italy.

Our family of 2 adults and 2 teenagers stayed in La Stufa here in July 2011. The apartment was very good with all the facilities we needed. It would have been good to know in advance that there was also a dishwasher. To make the interior even more comfortable we would have liked a sofa or more easy chairs. The balcony terrace was fantatsic with spetacular views. Once again reclining sun loungers would have made this even better.
We made good use of the excellent pool which was well maintained.
We travelled the area and enjoyed visiting Montepulciano and other small towns as well as an easy drive to Siena.
A great holiday apartment in a great location.

We stayed in Cetine Vecchie in April of 2011. We toured by car the whole central Italy, and it was the best of those apartments, where we had to live.
Stunningly beautiful tuscan nature, owner's hospitality and care, wonderful home-made wine and olive oil and luxury apartments with stunning views from windows and terrace - all this made a great impression on us.
The only pity, for swimming in the pool was out of season- but next time we'll come in time ;)
Dear Costantino and Danusia, thank you very much again for your hospitality and excellent service!
