Le Caggiole

The main farmhouse, where the Martinellis have resided for generations, has been recently restored with its annexes, and it is now divided into four comfortable double rooms and a lovely apartment, named after the old craft activities that were formerly carried out in the farm.

On the first floor:
Room Il Maniscalco (The Farrier): with a lovely view over the rolling hills towards Montepulciano, terra-cotta floors and original wooden beamed ceilings, this room is furnished with family pieces and fitted with all modern comforts such as satellite TV, flyscreens and a large private bathroom with shower and bath.
On the second floor:
Room Il Cantiniere (The Wine-Cellar Man): the place where the wine-cellar man used to rest has been fully restored, but maintains the original oak wooden beamed ceilings, and wooden floors. This room is furnished with early twentieth-century pieces belonging to the family, and enjoys lovely views of the garden (with private bathroom, satellite TV, and flyscreens).
Room Lo Stalliere (The Stableman): this room, which is located above the former cattle shed and stables, was the house of the man who used to care after the animals in the farm. With wooden floors, original wooden beamed ceilings, and nineteenth-century pieces of furniture, this room offers a warm and cosy atmosphere for those who appreciate the flavours of ancient times (private bathroom, satellite TV, and flyscreens). It enjoys stunning views of the artistic Tuscan landscape.

In the annexe “Old Oven and Kitchen” next to the main farmhouse:
Room La Nicchia (The Shell): this room takes its name from the wonderful fossil seashell that was found here during the restoration works. It opens directly into the garden and it is a very romantic room, for couples in love seeking for privacy. It has got private bathroom, air conditioning, flyscreens and satellite TV.
Apartment La Massaia (The country housewife): the name of this room comes from the person who used to spend her full days in this place next to the warm atmosphere of the stove, cooking delicious roasted meat and fragrant home-made bread. It opens directly into the garden and has a large living room with kitchen area, a romantic double room, private bathroom, satellite TV, air conditioning and independent heating. This room is ideal for small families, and for those couples who prefer to cook their own food on holidays as well.
